Islam is based on five things. They are called Pillars of Islam. The Five Pillars of Islam are:

1) Shahada -Testifying Allah is one and Nabi Muhammad [s] is his messenger.

2) Salah -Offering the five daily prayers.

3) Zakah -Giving charity to the poor and needy.

4) Sawm -Fasting in the Ramadan month.

5) Hajj -Going to Makkah for the pilgrimage.
